start with snare drum, practice what they call rudiments.
find a teacher to get started.

开腕就得几个月吧，不过如果开了腕，扫吉他和弦估计
比较轻松。gogo说呢?

音乐两个主要部分就是节奏和旋律，鼓的主要是节奏，音色有有限的几种（高低tom)，
所以也有很简单的旋律功能，吉他兼有节奏和旋律，要说有什么相对的难点，主要是
鼓需要四肢操练，要发展四肢的独立性。一把吉他某个时段基本只需要搞定一个节奏，
但是鼓可能要同时保持好几种节奏，一般摇滚里手脚的节奏虽然不完全一样，但多半
还可以互相支持，比如脚1234动作，手选择24动作，但是爵士里面手脚的节奏经常是
冲突的，而且重音的位置经常变化，所以难在这里。再看速度的提高，小肌肉比大肌
肉好练，手指能动多快，手腕和脚又能动多快，相比之下鼓的速度提高要难，当然达
到某个阶段哪种提高都难。鼓简单的地方就是节奏感是比较本能的，不象吉他要学那
么多理论才能成气候，所以学鼓上手还是比较简单。

for later development, but if just jam w/ a band you
don't have to have do that long. i know drummers practice
on pad for 30 min everyday for life -- jim chapin is known
for carrying his pad and sticks all the time. and he has
been playing for what, 60 or 70 years.

many rock drummers don't have the right techniques.

I have a question.
isn't it too noisy if you play in an apartment?
how do you deal with that.

in atlanta i have a house w/ basement
here i play on yamaha dtexpress, it's an electronic set
you can use earphone
even w/ an acoustic set you can put on mute pad
nothing compares to a good set of acoustic, i don't
really lke the rubber pad on my yamaha. i have a real
snare and a real hi-hat that i practice w/ some tape
on it.
