I thought it was a company to sell cheap tickets, LOL....but obviously there
is more in its business modle.....any ideas?

give me a reason why GOOG, AAPL, facebook or whoever can not get into its
market in a blink of eyes.

not a good idea to short pcln.
Priceline's "naming your price" can cut hotel price to around 33%. Lot of
people looking for deals like it now.

PCLN have a patent for its electronic bidding system. That is why others can not get into it. Its patent still have around 8 years to go

他们可以get in，但是有钱也不一定就能做好。google自己搞的google video，
搞黄了，结果就是只能去花几十亿收购youtube。priceline的market里面本身
就已经有很多competitor，但是最后事实就是priceline成了老大。谁想进这个
market，甚至当老大，也可以，没问题，先准备好300亿美元marketing+价格战
loss，把priceline的cash耗光了，就赢了。

前两年好像有一个英国公司和PCLN 竞争

can not get into it. Its patent still have around 8 years to go

Microsoft and expedia tried in the early time of this century. And Priceline sued.
The patent is quite general and it is funny the patent authority did approve such a general patent.
