That's in my view the best strategy you should take! Go with broad index
ETFs and dollar cost average (similarly, continually and consistently to put
your future 401K contribution to it/them)
do not go with other index funds (high expense and/or lower return)

sector is more risky at least, and in long term might be worse than the
broad index... and talk about short term, what if you drag yourself down to
a bad sector?

不要买SPY，管理费1%，SP500的MutualFund一般都很低，0.2%，还没有交易费。
除非你想经常交易，基金是收盘价并且有交易限制。

可以，不过你会错过国际股，小cap股，bonds 等等
