请教 Head of household 的要求.# TAX - 交税与退税

夫妻全年在两个州工作 (都是H1), 各自租房, 只有短时探访. 下半年有了孩子并跟母
亲住. 请教能不能把老婆当成head of household. 那我是不是要用single身份来报税
呢?
没买房, 像这样在两个州的情况, 有什么可以用来deduct呢?

记得是不行。好像前妻前夫有些情况下还可以。

I have same sitution as you. I also want to know 有什么可以用来deduct呢?
I thought yes, but your wife may not be qualified for 2008. (because
your child was born 下半年. your child need live with your wife more than
half year)
also, you and your wife need live apart in the last 6 months.
I did not use head of household in 2007 becasue my husband moved in Aug
2007, but I will claim head of household in 2008. if your wife claim as
head of household, I think you can use married filed seperately(

As I remebered, born or passed in 2008 will be qualified child and considere
d 12mon. Read fine print.

以上说法不成立的.如果是当年才出生的,并不要求一定要满半年.
俺当年情况就是这样.俺自己觉得HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD是适合我的,因此俺当年是按HEAD
OF HOUSEHOLD给俺自己报的税,按SINGLE(还是MARRIED SEP?我忘记了)给俺老公报的.
