not sure why either
obviously tcsh and bash are the two most popular shells
i like tcsh more though :)

It is too long ago I did shell scripting. But again, NEVER use csh to
program shell script.
There used to be a page that from Tom Christian that why csh sucks in
scripting.. dunno if you can still find it.

I think most people use bash.
All the sysadms in my dept use bash.

right i would imagine so since redhat uses bash as default shell
but before linux got popular, most people use csh and its enhanced version
tcsh

ksh is more popular in industrial
ksh is more powerful, it is a superset of sh

I saw a report that said even the author couldn't figure out
how many features ZSH had. Here is a feature list copied
from
unix-faq/shell/shell-differences Version: 1.16
This table below lists most features that I think would
make you choose one shell over another. It is not intended
to be a
definitive list and does not include every single possible
feature
for every single possible shell. A feature is only
considered to be
in a shell if in the version that comes with the operating
system,
