I talked to a girl who has worked as waiter during college.
Most restaurants either do not pay waiters or only pay 1-2$/h for waiters,
because tips are expected. If you do not tip your waiter, that means you
force someone work for you or serve you for free.
In China when you eat in a restaurant, the waiter's salary already added in
your food, which is more than the tip you paid here.
Just like When you buy stuff in China, the sale's tax is more than doubled
here. However, since it is included in the sale's price, you just do not
know about it. I don't know why so many people are blind to see the simple
facts.
Doesn't matter how poor or rich you are, you should tip your waiter because
it is shame to let someone serve you for free.
