To whom it may concern,
I am writing this letter to you concerning Wei Sun and Hanlin Li. Wei
Sun (now Jasmine Sun, Jasmine Kosloski) is the No.1 suspect of a murder case
in China. I have no intention to denigrate an innocent person, but please
hear me out and establish your own judgement.
In 1995, Ling Zhu, a student of Chemical major of Tsinghua University
was poisoned by Thallium. Since then, her life was completely destroyed. As
the poison gradually spreads throughout her body, she is only able to
stumble and have lost the ability to talk. Her intelligence now is reduced
to the level of a 6 year-old child, and her elderly parents desperately
exhausted their energy to take care of her. Zhu’s tragedy was turned into a
renowned public incident, and this topic repeatedly gained the attention of
the media and the general public.
The tragedy is recorded on Wikipedia via link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zhu_Ling_(poisoning_victim)
One of the main reasons of the attention is that the murderer of this
case is still at large. Wei Sun (now Jasmine Sun, Jasmine Kozlowski) is the
only suspect of the incident and the granddaughter of a formerly important
person in China. Despite countless evidences and witnesses pointing at her,
she managed to avoid lawful punishment, married to a citizen of the United
States and immigrate there. Nowadays, as the time passes and the evidences
are destroyed, it is impossible to reinvestigate this case anymore.
Hanlin Li is the classmate of the victim.
I am an outsider and find it unjustified to accuse an innocent of crime,
but what Wei Sun did after the incident put me into serious doubt of her
innocence. First of all, Sun worked in the lab when the victim was poisoned
and had easy access to Thallium. Secondly, Sun is testified to envy the
victim before she was poisoned, and had tricked her several times.
The most shocking and disturbing fact to me is that Sun wrote several
posts to address her innocence on a publicly recognized online forum with
about 1,000,000 daily visits (bbs.tianya.cn). Later, a hacker cracked into
Sun’s email address disclosing a Word document. The document showed that
Sun had actually gathered her friends to preach her innocence, and even
wrote a detailed strategic plan about what to say and who to say so. Sun and
her followers established dozens of accounts just for the “show”, casting
various imaginary roles and throwing out views points specially tailored by
Sun herself before the discussion, The aim of this act is to gain the
sympathy of the public and to establish an innocent imagery for Sun.
Furthermore, a series of emails were also excavated from her mail box
showing Sun’s contact with her followers on the forum. It is sad to see
that no one among them showed sympathy for the victim or her family.
Hanlin Li is one of the email contacts, and had attempted to alleviate
her crime in the posts.
As an outsider, I just want to ask one question: if Sun is innocent, why
didn’t her ask for lawful support and reinvestigation, but instead pulling
such mean tricks on the public?

(接上) This incident has regained attention this week due to a
similar case happened recently. The public is saddened by the current
situation of Zhu’s family, and is furious to know that the case is closed
prominently closed without finding the murderer. The only goal of the email
is to let more people know about the story and have their own subjective
judgement in mind.
Thank you for your time.
