I have an old drive, partitioned into C: and D:
It's old so I got a new drive and trying to clone the old drive using Ghost9.0
I completed clone old C:\ (Ghost shows the task completed), and the old drive
died.
I swapped the new drive in, it seems working, but as soon as I typed in
username/password, it automatically logs off
any suggestion?
thanks!

since windows are looking for the original C:/ drive for your account info(
well, maybe sth else) etc. but now it can not since the old drive is not there
. U can have a try:put back the old drive at the original place(original IDE
channel) with the original jumper setting. Mostly u can boot into windows.

I think you comments of "Ghost9.0 is very bad ..." maybe right. -
After I fixed my previous problem, I got the 80090006 error (activation
problem) so I finally recovered the system by repair-install, which needs to
type in SN.
Did not save much time comparing to a fresh install. The good thing is after
windows boot up, all the software I installed before and user/pwd are all
there and working.
80090006 supposedly not going to happen according to ghost mannul since I use
the new hd on the same ma

You misunderstand his poster.
Ghost 9.0 is very bad to clone system as image file. I never succeed. so
, please try acronis. acronis is very good.

thanks for the reply - but your conclusion is kind of suspecious (not to be
personal) - seems many people cloned system drive successfully in XP.
Do you know any reason that XP would log you off immediately while loading
personal seetings? (virus excluded)
