Would like to consult on how to integrate existing system with XML with least
impact. The assumption is not to have much changes/impact to the existing
system while the interface portion can switch to XML. Probably on how to
connect the RDBMS with XML input/output.
Did anyone have experience on such integration?

least
1) get data format used in existing system
2) design DTD or XML Schema whose subset will support this data format
3) Parse XML and write into Database, if you are using Oracle 9i, it's very
easy to load xml into table.
