Please follow the steps:
1. go to Utilities in Applications folder, launch Netinfo Manager
2. In Domain menu-> Security-> Authetication
3. After that, Domain->Security->Enable root
The system will auto ask you to set root password.
If you by accident have old root password in your machine, launch terminal
sudo passwd
of course, you need to change login dialog to Name and Password option.
