Our university has two vendors Fidelity and TIAA-CREF for optional
retirement plan. Which one has a better reputation in general?

你得看什么funds available。一般来说TIAA的会好一些。

hehe, guess ipt3 users will have to wait, coz you will need to rerun the
current thing EVERYTIME you reboot your device. That is what they meant by "
tethered" ipt3 solution....

how to compare available funds?
To diversify my risk, I am thinking about putting the university's
contribution with one vendor and my own money to a supplementary retirement
plan with the other vendor.
How does that sound?

diversification among managers is secondary to diversification among asset
classes. If you are only interested in passive/index funds, there is little
need for manager diversification, so just pick the one with the least
expense ratio.

无知，不懂投资就知道乱说，所有fund不是expense ratio越少越好，照你这么说，都
去买vanguard fund，他们是最便宜得了，但过去15年total return扣掉费用来说，
vanguard不是很好，相反，fidelity 跟american fund不错。这也是中国人投资最大得
误区，穷人总关心别人要收我多少钱，真正有钱人想得是让别人先赚钱，这样才有人替
你来服务，服务得也更好，所以回报也越高。银行没有任何费用，为什么你不把钱放银
行。

还有，少动不动就套什么中国人怎么怎么着。

你这版主丢人丢到家了，如果都去买vanguard，你怎么不把这个板块叫做vanguard，那
美国剩下大大小小6000多家投资公司都该关门了

现在Fidelity出了这些IVV之类的free commision的ETF, 根vanguard的fund比起来, 哪
一个好点呢?
Vanguard貌似也开了free commision的ETF, 但是貌似要求minimum balance...

yes. if you hold the stock, they pay your dividend
(no matter you hold the stock thru index funds or active funds)
anybody correct me?
