Job Description
As a TEM Engineer at Micron's Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) Lab
located in Boise, Idaho, you will work with R&D research groups to develop
new processes and new materials and work with Fab Engineers to speed up the
product transfer and improve yield.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Providing daily TEM analysis, with emphasis on nano-probe analysis
using EDS and EELS.
* Introducing and developing new TEM characterization and sample
preparation techniques.
* Providing training to other team members.
Qualifications
Successful candidates for this position will have
* Hands-on experience on various TEM/STEM based characterization
techniques.
* Hands-on experience on TEM sample preparation.
* Dedicated research work on analytical TEM/STEM analysis, specifically
, spectrum imaging, EELS fine edge, semi-quantitative and/or quantitative
analysis.
* Fluent in most conventional TEM/STEM techniques and some special
techniques.
* A solid background in crystallography, diffraction theory, and
electron optics.
* A solid background in Materials Science & Engineering or Solid State
Physics.
* Familiarity with other physical characterization methods.
* A background in Semiconductor Physics, Device Physics and
Semiconductor processing. (Preferred)
* A high level of self-motivation.
* The ability to work in a group as a team player.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills
* Willingness to work overtime as needed.
Education:
* Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering or Physics.
* Thesis work is based on dedicated analytical TEM works.
or
* MS degree in Materials Science & Engineering or Physics.
* Thesis work is based on TEM analytical works.
* A few years hands-on experience on TEM analysis with demonstrated
record of nano-probe analysis using analytical TEM.
