i assume you are talking about Genome Research.
first of all both journals are pretty good in the field of genomics.
Genome Research is quite inconsistent in speed of review, sometimes it can be
extremely slow. I have a paper which was submitted in Feb, got the first round
of review back in late August, and finally accepted in December.
I heard PNAS is faster. but i don't have experiences in dealing with them yet.
i don't think BMC series is good in bioinformatics / genomics.
