The best way is to talk to your mentor first and get his/her support. Then, you introduce yourself and apply for a post doc position indicating that your mentor knows your application and supports your application. That will achieve a couple of things: 1) you are a proactive person; 2) you really want to work in his/her lab; 3) you are interested in his/her research. Before you writing the letter or e-mail, make sure that you know what his/her researches are and express your interest. Asking your mentor to give your CV to the lab PI that you are interested in is not a good approach. At least, this is my opinion. Good luck.
【在 D*a 的大作中提到】 : 非大牛,但是认识几个人吧,不用白不用。 : 请问下老板是怎么用的?自己写信的时候提老板的名字?比如xxx encouraged me to : apply your lab之类的?还是直接把cv给老板,让老板联系对方么? : 如果老板不熟的是不是还是要自己寄信啊。
Thanks a lot! the first step is done,my boss is quite supportive. My problem is that i want to join my LD, so my choise is quite limited... those people he knows, of course, are in different cities...Well, actually, none of my ideal labs is in that city... Then if I go out of my domaine, he doesn't know those people in person ( which is normal,i guess) -_-
, mail, give
