PNAS本来就是院士的灌水地方.院士用名誉保证文章的质量,所以快点发也无所谓.

I want to say something about this one. Actually the authors published the
SAME paper on PNAS last year. And there was a retraction on PNAS website.
Please take a look at:

I am quite familiar with this work. I have been working on the same genes
expressed in some non-model organisms. Perhaps I got the similar ideas
even much earlier, but I cannot publish good papers so far.
Anyway, the authors did a great job, but the policy and strategy were
important. If your boss or father is “Ligang”, you will succeed easily.

Chances to get published on PNAS are slim in my lab. My boss even doesn't want to
try submitting a paper on PNAS. Several weeks ago, we have a paper get rejected by Mol sys bio, I asked my boss if we can try PNAS plus. Boss replied; FORGET ABOUT PNAS.

知道这个lab.我今天还在想他这么好的publication去了哪里了。没想到就看到这个贴
。他的job talk给的很烂吗?他老板应该对于表达的要求很高啊!
这片paper么,做分子生物学的肯定是看不上的,因为用的技术比较简单,工作量也不
算特别大。不过这个概念还是有点意思的。考虑到酶学才刚刚进驻in cell层面不久,
能上science也不奇怪。说超级烂paper,是有点过分了。
开眼:

这文章去年还是有点反响的吧,反正去febs开会的时侯有人还提及了。
其实套路跟keasling那偏nature差不多,连针对的酶都是同一个,就是换了个宿主。
既然那篇能nature,这偏搞个pnas也不为国。

不带这么指名道姓骂的阿。
老中也不容易。这偏paper还真没看过.这块还真不觉得是Benkovic老人家的强项,伊
enzymology+catalytic antibody做得那是真排得上号的~~~

这篇文章,立意老了,手段老了,但是这个组合很好。回答了困扰酶学/蛋白学科研究
者的一个老问题。作者又出名门,被science接受是可以理解的。
