每年暑假期间，会有成千上万的学生从美国各地前来华盛顿，进入白宫、国会和其他政
府部门进行实习，为毕业后寻找工作或进一步深造积累经验，建立初步的社会人际关系
。这些人从事的工作不同，时间长短不一，但他们拥有一个共同的称呼——“实习生”
。在这份名单中，标红部分，就是网友们发现的不寻常的白宫实习生，他们分别是：彼
得帕克（蜘蛛侠）、史蒂夫罗杰斯（美国队长）、布鲁斯韦恩（蜘蛛侠）。
其实申请美国白宫实习生的门槛并不高，只要年满18周岁、大学在读或者刚刚毕业的美
国公民都可以申请，所以很多积极的美国年轻人都想把获得这种实习机会，当作离开学
校走入社会的一个途径，所以每年提供申请的都很多。不过，保不齐这里边会出现调皮
捣蛋的坏孩子。或许就有人冒用了蜘蛛侠、蝙蝠侠的名字，递交了一份假的申请信息给
审核部门。滑稽的是，蜘蛛侠、蝙蝠侠这些超级英雄的本名还真入选了。
不知道到时候坏小子是不是会真的穿着蜘蛛侠，或是蝙蝠侠的外套，跑到白宫来实习。
报到的时候不知道面试官会是怎样的表情。

做结构的就是悲剧，nnd，刚做出来就被抢，不是第一次被抢了。真想转行，越干越没
劲，天天提心吊胆的看pdb有没有自己做的蛋白。

Seriously, do you guys really have some thoughts on the structure of the
protein you are working on, before you get real ones.
I am just curious.

Probably yes. Working on a protein without homology to any known structure
should be very difficult.

I was not a structure person although it is unavoidable for me to become one
, unfortunately. Since I has been in a structural lab and a biophysics
program for N years, I can give you some of my personal feelings. Most new
structures, i.e. structures of close homologs are unknown, have a lot
unexpected points, which are beyond smart people's, like David Baker,
prediction. These new aspects justify the existence of structural biology
field.
However, I do share some of the feelings many of us here possess. That is,
structural papers are disproportionally favored in CNS at least in
comparison with other biophysics fields.

Forget to say "Sorry" and "my sympathy goes to you" to LZ.
In addition, look carefully at your own structure and see whether the others
are right in their interpretation. Can you rescue it a little bit? I also
know one case where the first structure went to Structure and the other went
to Cell years later because the first authors are not as smart and their
interpretation was incorrect.

Move on to David Baker Lab and try to over him on prediction aspect.

Baker的实验室应该很难进吧，而且里面的人大部分应该是major CS的吧。。。guess

哎，理解楼主的痛苦。我也被抢过，而且还就发在原来心仪的那个杂志上。
虽然不是完全相同，但是发现的机制的新颖性全没了，最后只能改改含泪投去jbc。
我不懂结构方面的（感觉太高深了^^|||)，一旦被抢了，压根不能发了吗？

只要你做的东西是热点，都有这个风险，不管是结构还是其他的。

认识一个人去年去了Baker实验室做protein interface design，文章也不是很强，一
作只有一篇Bioinformatics和一篇Protein。
