标题: 退学后多久F1作废？多久必须离境？

打算念完这个qtr就不念了，想退了在美国转转，开开眼界就回国。不知道这样可行么
？如果可行能有多长时间留给我？

if you graduate. you can choose to apply for OPT and in most cases you have
1 year.
if you quit, you must leave the country immediately when your I20 is called
off, if you dont want to break immigration laws.
but if you plan not to come back to USA again, you are free to leave any
time.

I guess you don't need to GRADUATE to be eligible for OPT
"a period during which undergraduate and graduate students with F-1
status who have completed or have been pursuing their degrees
for more than nine months"
