Job Description:
We are seeking a talented and motivated scientist to join the Scientific
Data Curation Team at Omicsoft. This position will be based in Cary, North
Carolina with the primary responsibility to curate genomics data from varied
disease areas, and to develop data analysis plans/pipelines to generate
biological meaningful results and visualizations. By collaboratively working
with internal research and software development team, the successful
candidate will integrate acquired knowledge into our efforts to built a
strong analytic pipeline to process large scale genomics dataset and
developed innovative technology to deliver high-throughput data in a user-
friendly fashion.

Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to,
Review the scientific publications, protocols or other documentation to
evaluate study aims, design, methods and research findings, and documents
these information accordingly.
Manage the genomic data curation team to extract, QC, annotate, and organize
biological/clinical sample meta data from various sources.
Work closely with software developers to design, test and manage the data
auto-curation system.
Qualifications:
Successful applicants should be detail-oriented and have good communication
skills. This includes past work performance and/or assignments requiring
active interaction with Researchers, Analysts, IT staff, and end users.
PhD (2+ years of working experiences) or Master's degree (5+ years of
working experiences) with relevant background in immunology or related
biomedical fields.
Familiar with current trend of clinical and academic research in immunology,
human genetics and biomedical medicine.
Desired Experiences:
Understanding key pathways and mechanisms within inflammatory and immunology
that may underlie disease processes in COPD, RA, IBD, and Psoriasis is a
big plus.
Experience in curating and handling large data sets with particular
understanding of requirements for auto-processing and long-term data
archiving.
Experience with scientific/clinical ontologies and metadata issues.
Experience constructing or maintaining a controlled vocabulary.
Understanding of database systems, XML, RDF, scientific metadata standards,
API development, and related technologies is not required but will be
desired.
Knowledge and experiences with microarray and/or next generation sequencing
data analysis will be preferred.
Working experience in pharmaceutical industry is a plus.
A good record of publication and bioinformatics work is a plus.
