小弟刚入行数模，现在基本上在windows下用Visual Fortran来搞搞模型计算啥的。
但是感觉很多数模高人都在linux下搞，很多招人的也是要求熟练linux环境。
没有用过linux，但是很感兴趣，非常想试试学学。因此，想请教以下问题：
1。 在linux环境下进行fortran模型计算，相比windows环境，有哪些优势呢？
2。 如果linux好，哪款linux系统更适合FORTRAN的数值计算？
3。 可否推荐一款linux下的比较好用FORTRAN Compiler？
4。 如果用linux，怎样上手比较快？

I have a full time job, could only use time after work for GMAT preparation.
My plan is to prepare GMAT for 1 1/2 months and then apply for a few top
GMAT programs around May. But it's just plan, not sure if I could make it.
Just curious to know how other ppl did it...

GMAT is nothing big. One month should be sufficient, unless one wants to get
a score that his/her IQ and English do not deserve

这个应该是一种都市传说，连大学老师都曾经完全没有根据的说过这件事。
内存管理和编译的算法是完全可以放到纸面上说明白的，linux和windows没有本质区别。
