Please educate me as how to invest in prefered stock:
1) where to check symbol
2) what to pay attn. etc.
Corporate bond seems to offer much better value than equity now, to my un-trained eyes.

朋友长了智齿，疼得要命，可牙医太贵，即使医疗保险也cover不了全部，
除去deduction的钱就能要了老命，这种情况除了回国拔牙还有别的办法吗？

Preferred stocks are one layer above common stocks in the case of bankrupcy,
but junior than other senior (secured) debts. Preferred shares are very
common in US banks as a way to get funding. I got this just now.

另外群众有航海经验
内蒙古的最多也就炼炼丹,不会弄入海求仙大型工程

did some googling. found 2 etf that focus on preferred stock: PFF, PGF.
Both have huge exposure to financial sector.
I am gripped by fear right now. I am afraid if bank get nationalized
preferred will get wiped out as well. Could that be the case? They are
falling so much. Is mkt insane?

It's possible. I remember the preferred shareholders of Fannie/Freddie got
wiped out when the US gov took over. I think this is the reason why the
preferred for Citi and BAC (BoA) are so cheap now.
But look at the other hand, goverment screwed up badly when they wiped out
the preferred shareholders of Fannie/Freddie, many of them are small banks
in the US (who are already under stress in the downturn). Also, keep in mind
, issuing preferred is a very common way for the banks to get funds. Now th

晋代一百多年，方术盛行，出现了不少方士。按方士数量比较，东晋多于西晋，南方多

The GOV fvcks almost everybody by providing Treasury insurance to
this stimulus, TARP and all this other craps.
The treasury funding monster acts like a black hole to absorb $$
from all non-gov guaranteed sectors, literally crowding them out of
credits.
Then businesses blow up --> TAX revenues go to the tiolet.

据说开始像老子他们还是养气的，估计战国后期化学水平上去了发明了类似摇头丸的东
西才开始炼气乐。庄子这家伙肯定吃了不少，写的东西指南打北指东打西的还听有道理。

Market is rational in general. But I think today the market is full of fear
(of uncertainty of the nationalization of C/BAC).
After all, the market is made up of human beings. Two common attributes of
mankind: fear and greed. I know I have both.

Thanks for your reply.
The neighbor board is full of ppl buying BAC, not many are talking about WFC
. So WFC preferred may have a better/good chance.
I have no gut to play it. I have to admit I have a lot of fear now.
