Today, I listend to Steve Reich 's "music for 18 musicians". My ear was so
refreshed.
It is really amazing. His music has very imaginative rhythm and hamornic
pattern. It is full of dynamics. Not like many other 20th century works, dull
and depressed. No wonder it has been adapted to dance.
Here is his brief biography:
Born in New York and raised there and in California, Mr. Reich graduated with
honors in philosophy from Cornell University in 1957. For the next two years,
he studied composition
