NEW YORK – Late-night mainstay Conan O'Brien is headed to TBS to resume his
comedic duties with a talk show expected to debut in November, the network
says.
The program will air Mondays through Thursdays at 11 p.m. Eastern, shifting
TBS' "Lopez Tonight," starring George Lopez, to midnight.
Monday's surprise announcement hit the same day O'Brien starts a two-month,
nationwide comedy tour in Eugene, Ore., amid persistent reports that he was
likely to claim Fox as his new late-night home.

我一直有个问题没想通, 现在发paper的企业越来越多, 尤其是system方向, 从微软这
些老牌开始, 到google, 到facebook
我没相通在TOP CONFERENCE上发PAPER对这些企业有什么好处, 提高知名度, 树立形象?
??不至于要通过这个途径吧
希望达人解答

u r fast. i just saw it on wsj. it's kind supprise to me he would choose
cable over network. or he didn;t have a choice? but if jon stewart and
stephen colbert can flourish so can he.

对企业里的researcher有好处，可以让他们随时回学校。

his show is not funny.

Conan is not funny just a goofy guy. He will be lucky if he can keep like
300~400K viewers after the big debut numbers.

The same reason why universities publish papers.
Having worked in both a university and an industrial research lab, I do not
see any differences between university and company.
They are all money-making institutions seeking to increase their bottom-line.
Publishing papers builds brand of the institution, and thus contributes to
generating future sales (for university, sales = tuition + endowment + grant).
