POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN NEUROIMAGING, CLEVELAND
CLINIC EPILEPSY CENTER
Post-doctoral researcher with experience in
functional/structural
neuroimaging & neurophysiological methods is sought for
an initial two to
three-year position in the Epilepsy Center MEG &
Neuroimaging lab beginning
immediately.
This is an unparalleled opportunity to work with members
of one of the
largest epilepsy centers, in a multi-disciplinary
environment that
integrates neurology, neurosurgery and neurobiology, to
conduct human
studies on source localization, normal and abnormal
connectivity, and higher
cognitive function in adult and pediatric epilepsy
populations. Cutting
edge imaging techniques will be available for these
studies including 3T
structural and functional MRI, EEG-fMRI
magnetoencephalography and diffusion
tensor imaging, FDG-PET, SPECT, and intracranial EEG
(derived from subdural
and depth electrode recordings). The position is
available for 2 years with
another 1 year optional. The appointee should be able
to contribute
methodological expertise in functional and/or structural
imaging data
analysis to a team whose primary focus is on the
clinical,
neurophysiological and surgical management of
pharmacoresistant epilepsy,
and related translational research in the field of
epilepsy.
The candidate will also have the opportunity to combine
neuroimaging and
noninvasive neurophysiological data with human
intracranial
electrophysiology and direct electrical stimulation of
the cortex.
Job Requirements
A doctoral degree in Neuroscience, Behavioral
Neuroscience, Biomedical
Sciences, Physiology/Biophysics, Biomedical Engineering,
or related field is
a pre-requisite. Candidates with Biomedical Engineering
background is
especially encouraged to apply. The ideal candidate will
have a background
in neuroimaging and strong communication skills, and an
ability to work
within an inter-disciplinary team. Knowledge in
programming languages such
as Matlab or IDL is required. Experience in study
design, data acquisition,
and analysis of EEG/MEG source localization, fMRI and
EEG-fMRI is desirable
but not mandatory. Salary level will be commensurate
with experience.
