I would have said that you were right back 10 years ago when
derivatives were the rage.
Now? go to blumberg and count how many "quant" headhunters
there are - you can do that with one hand, in ease too.

It is nice to see qili on this board after a long time.
If we refer to the whole investment industry, my opinion is that demand for
new financial products still exists and should be stable, hence financial
engineering should be a stable field. However, there is a VAST supply for the
potential financial engineers. During the last millenium, the job market have
already been quite over supplied.
However, I hold the opinion that demand for financial engineers still exists
but will not be expl
