I have a full-time job, I got it last August， and I am using my OPT(it
started from last July). The school I am working for now hired me after the
interview, they asked
me if I am elligble to work and I said yes, and I went to the school
district to finish all the paper work and everything went well.
Since the cap for last year already been finished at that time, I did not
bother to check the H1 visa, but I knew from somewhere online that they don'
t offer H1B.
Now, since my OPT only has 6 month

让学校提供什么样的材料阿? 是指我上班的学校还是the school district? 我觉得他
们都闻visa色变.

A school district in NC also told me to contact a visiting international
program. I did not contact them, because I thought it was useless. Does
anyone know anything about this kind of programs?
And, when is the best time to tell the school district I need H1 sponsorship
during job interview? I tend to ask them first: Do you sponsor H1 visa? and
then they would say no, not ususally, and they lost interests in me.

I asked the career center about this question before and they said I should
emphasize in my cover letter that I have 1 year OPT (eligible to work
without paperwork for one year) and then ask for H1-B once I'm working using
my OPT, but in this way, it is very likely that I'll end up in the same
situation as gracelee's (ZhuZhu's)....

1，要是你要spouse,可以换成家属签证；
2，继续找工作，美国和加拿大。要是你能找到加拿大的工作应该和美国差不多。
3，回中国找份工作，同时再找美国的找到了就可以再杀回美国了时间。
4，再申请个学校读书，要是没有经济问题，admission 不难拿到。

恩, 我昨天去问了, 这个Visiting International Faculty (VIF) program的总部是在
NC, 好像很多学校district 是和他们合作,引进国外的老师, 他们提供的签证为J签证.

I think the career center is correct, at least there is hope and at least,
you can use the time to gain some teaching experience, better than nothing.

I checked this VIF program. Teachers from China with less than 3 years of
teaching experiences are not qualified.

The J-1 visa might not be such a bad idea after all. 3 years of teaching, no
fed or state tax (possibly). You can apply for a Canadian green card and it
should be fast and cheap.
If you are on H1-B, you have to apply for green card under EB-3, which goes
on forever and seems hopeless at this point.
