可是我的问题是, OPT到7月14号结束, H1是要到10月才能合法上班是么? 而学校是8月
就开学了,这个问题有可能解决么? 大家有过类似的经历么? 还有,有人有好的律师可以
推荐的么? 感激不尽

用PREMIUM PROCESSING,多花1000大洋。

I know, my concern is that from my understanding, H1B starts to take effect
from Oct. 1st, so between July 14(the last day of my OPT) and Oct. 1(which
is usually called the gap), I am not elligible to work, correct? what can I
do? since the school starts from August. I don't know what to do in this
case.

是存在gap.H1B每年4月申请,统一性的10月1号生效.
和学校商量10月开始上班,而且你gap的两个多月也要想办法换身份或回国,否则呆在这
里是illegal.

找律师觉得没什么用,律师可以帮你申请H1B但是不能改变H1B 生效日期.

If your lawyer can appeal to USCIS and argue that your teaching position is
related to a university research program, or any higher education activities
, then your H1-B won't be subjected to quota, and you might get it before 10
/1.
If that does not work out, you can ask to observe in class until you are
allowed to work. The school will find a sub for your position.
