实际的Mobile communication 里,一般要用到功率控制。由于读的paper中,只讲算法
。我很想知道实际的电路是怎样实现的。我想,在发射器(uplink or downlink)中应该
有个功率放大器吧。这个放大器是调整输出电流还是电压?
我现在有一个data logger,用GPRS传送数据。我可以控制电源输出电压并保持恒定,
我发现在不同的电源电压下,logger消耗的电流好像没有多大变化。我原来设想当电压
降低时,电流应该增大。但当我增加通信信道衰减时(电源电压保持不变),我看到电
流增大了。
还有,在实际的GSM uplink中,base station 的目标Received BER 或 Received
Level 是多少?mobile的信号强度浮动的范围是多少?

so by controlling the voltage to the power amp (while the working current
remained roughly constant), you have controlled the power being consumed by
the power amp and thus being transmitted.

that would only work for analog implementations. the original poster has a
digital solution.

具体的说,电源电压依次设为3.9V, 3.7V and 3.5V(再低就不能工作了)。最大输出电
流维持在1.5A不变(这个跟实际消耗的电流没有关系)。结果在GPRS通信时,我观察到的
实际消耗的电流都约为150mA。这样算一下,电源在3.5V时的总输出功率最小。根据功
率控制的要求,GPRS device应该维持发射功率,这样,它也应该从电源那里汲取大约
相同的功率。这就是说,在3.5V时,电源输出电流应该比3.9V时高。
实际观察结果与预想的不一致。我猜会不会是logger里别的电路地方,比如微控部分,
ADC,memory等,消耗的功率降低了,但modem部分的功率维持不变,这样总的功率就降
低了。如果modem的电源是个DC-DC模块,我的猜想就可能是对的。

the controller, adc, memory consumes very little power so they shouldn't be
a factor here.
the transceiver in a moderm isn't always on and I don't know how accurate it
is to measure its transmitted power by looking at its average power
consumption.
the right approach may be to look at its instantaneous power when the
transceiver is transmitting.
most of those devices work in digital mode and changing the power applied to
those circuitry directly impact their transmitting power. That is how some

除了整体处理器架构的变化,主要的就是一个闭环控制的DC-DC模块,根据不同模块对
性能的要求提供相应的电压。模拟和RF方面变化很多,改变layout减少一些寄生损耗是
重要的手段。
