vanguard的每个mutual fund几乎都有对应的ETF。目前我的vanguard roth IRA有几个mutual
fund，如果全部卖掉转而买进对应的ETF，有没有意义？
他家网上有比较mutual fund和对应的ETF的工具，比了一下好像差别很小，没有太大所
谓。另外我知道ETF买卖灵活一些，但是我是属于不常交易的。

Supervisor level after working in my firm for about three years, i have a
CPA title.
But no pay raise yet, need to wait until the middle of the years for
evaluation to see how much i will have for this title.
Don't really want this title, it means more work and responsbility. I am a
mom with toddler in home, my LG doesn't want me to push too hard on my career
, but somehow my partners want to make me to take the responsbilties. I have
the no travel stay overnight and no work late agreement with my firm, but still
agree to work on Saturdays during tax season (that is about 48-50 hours a week)
So, what do they expect from a supervisor?

个mutual
ETF er is lower than investor mutual funds, but same as admiral funds.
The difference between ETF and admiral is very small.
In vanguard, you can not trade the same ETF for more than 25 times a year.
Be careful.
To me, I use ETF to purchase some mutual funds which require 3000 to open.

我也发现ETF和admiral很接近，不过admiral要10000以上，所以我的mutual fund都是
那种一般的3000就可以购买的，所以费用要比admiral和ETF高一些.
因为刚开始存roth IRA,所以钱不多，而且就算以后月积累越多，分散投资也是好的，
不至于一下子把1万砸进一个fund.
至于25次交易，我觉得还好，毕竟不是经常交易的人。
所以全部换成ETF应该是比维持mutual fund更有好处，至于风险和收益，我看vanguard
的ETF和对应的基金好像基本表现接近，没有什么坏处。
以前没有接触过ETF，近来才发现，好像买ETF比买mutual fund只有好处没有坏处，当
然我这是针对vanguard一家而言。有什么mutual fund的好处我没看到？

Do you have tax experience? Could you please give me any professional advice
on this case:交易完成时间在2009年12月18日，交易净利润4000多美元，但由于
各种原因没有纳入2009年的Tax return，而是并入2010年的收入。问题是：这样操作会
不会造成延期报税的penalty?如果会，为了避免这个罚款，可不可以私自把交易日期改
到2010年1月初？这样做IRS会不会查出来？如果今年做一个2009年的amending,好像是
1040X表，会不会产生额外的税费？

总结来说，如果考虑vanguard的话，如果一个基金有ETF和mutual fund，绝对应该买
ETF,mutual fund基本完败。我说的挺客观把。

MF is more convenient if you want to automatically transfer in/out
a fixed amount of money/shares every week, for example.

It's alright, I got advice from another tax professional already. I am still
looking for an opportunity to get into accounting firm, no matter auditing
or tax, I just want to learn as much as I can. I think you should take this
job, of course, I am a career woman. :)

I am talking about VANGUARD actively manage fund, which has low cost.
Throwing out actively managed funds with high fees, large AUM, high
turnovers and closet index fund, you get a much better subset.

前一段开了vanguard Roth IRA买了一只VBINX index fund.
现在想投一些ETF,如果还买vanguard ETF, 要花20$ annual fee另开一个vanguard
brokerage account。（还有其他费用吗？）
请问：
1）比起其他brokerage service, 开vanguard brokerage service买vanguard ETF划不
划算？
2）有没有其他Roth IRA可以买ETF的？如果有，从tax角度来讲有没有必要用roth IRA
买ETF?
新手请指教。
