if anyone has utilized cisco ios' tcl scripting functionality, i'm looking
for the possibility of running a cron in the ios. of course, i can use
expect to trigger the tcl script on the router, but it'd be stopped if the
router loses connectivity to the wan.
any way at all? thx

check out EEM, and you can find many many scripts on cco, or you can post
your own requirements, some people would write the script for you

it's not the matter of writing script. i can do it myself. it's the problem
of having the ios running it automatically, like every hour.

EEM是啥？but I don't think you can put a cron job in IOS. you need a telnet
session to execute tcl script.

go to CCO do a search with keyword EEM, you can do a lot of things using EEM
, even a Tcl script. there are a lot of ways to implement a cron job on IOS,
EEM, GOLD, IP SLA, etc..
