我是化学系的硕士，申请一所学校的化工系，他们今天发信说录取我为“transition
program”，就是说因为我没有工程背景，所以要先上4门本科生的课程，上完课之后再
考虑给我奖学金。而我去查了一下，那四门课分布在暑假2门和2010spring2门，就是说
09fall就没有事情做。
请问有人听说过这种事么？不知道这个要不要接受，很发愁

it's normal in many ChE departments...
In some ChE, u register in graduate program, but have to take some senior
course..

他们信上是这么说的
Based on your undergraduate and graduate record in Chemistry, you may have
to complete the following transition courses prior to beginning any graduate
-level courses.
If you are lacking the equivalents of basic Thermodynamics and Ordinary
Differential Equations courses you would have to take these courses as well.
Upon completion of the transition program, you will be re-evaluated for
admittance into our M.S. or Ph.D. program and will be considered for
financial aid at that t
