Applied this card(Citi AA AMEX) in Jan. To fulfill the spending requirement
AND without knowing there is a thing called Vanilla Reloadable card..., I
bought 2*$1100 gift card (for future international flights). I has been
worried that I won't get the statement credit since the "GC" value might be
too high. Now, my first statement just came out and I got it:
"02/18/2013 Congrats! Merchant Spend Bonus -$100.00

Even better, I notice I did get 2pt per dollar for the AA GC purchase.I
remember somewhere that the mile purchase might not be counted as purchase
from AA(or another airline?). But GC definitely does!

首先感谢大家的建议和讨论，虽然被拍得较很。华硕的那个P7P55D主板肯定是坏了，抠
下的CPU已经秒卖，25刀出手了。
我有个问题是困惑的，eBay上卖一代Intel i5 CPU和华硕的那个老主板P7P55D还是挺多
的，而且也能卖掉。你们肯定不会买，那么什么人会买呢？都这么老的东西，难道收藏
吗？
另外，Local craigslist 110刀入手了一款ASUS Z370-A主板，卖家只是才用了几天。
同时local找到一款盒装i3-8100 CPU，卖家要60刀，跟eBay价格比，便宜很多啊，有点
心动。孙然说性能一般，但是便宜。那个ASUS的老显卡打算先留着自用。但是发现DDR4
的内存都很贵啊，我的目标是自己攒一款至少32GB大内存的机器用于科学计算。谢谢。

我用的8350k，折腾了一下装到z170 extreme 4上面了，比前代的i5还稍微好点

我那个signup bonus是spend 2K to get 40K miles and spend 5K to get additional
10K (hate this). So spending 5K is my ultimate target. Besides, with
current price, an international ticket of 1100 is the routine. So I just
essentially pre-puchase two AA flight tickets.

别人不知道，但我买老硬件的确是为了一个情怀，老机器舍不得扔。
说起来大家都不相信，上半年我还买了块AGP的显卡。eBay上1G的AGP巨贵，比初代的
PCIe都贵，后来我选择的是新蛋的Refurbished卡，好歹算新的，512MB，还带90天保修
期，花了40刀左右，都够买半个1030了。因为老Pentium 4上的X1600突然死了，悄无声
息的，拿下来擦擦灰居然光亮如新，想想很伤感，当年还是BF去BestBuy抢了两个，一
个去eBay上倒卖挣了点外快，另一块就一直用到现在。好像原价100刀左右，算下来每
年的使用成本6，7刀。
老Pentium 4就是Dell Dimension 4600，当年学生中居流行的一款，多年来已经配上
Kingston HyperX 4 x1GB DDR，PSU换成了10刀的EVGA 450W Bronze，主硬盘是淘汰下
来的Seagate 240G SSD，外带4个IDE，一个是NEC DVD Writer，2个WD 120G和1个
Maxtor 200G，当年搞的Deal舍不得扔。加上最新的HD3450 AGP，基本上是“顶配”了
，玩个老游戏，看个2K电影什么的毫无压力。关键是还是装的XP，以前搞的一些盗版软
件只能在XP上，继续情怀而已。。。

Ebay上的东西只要够便宜就会有小白买。科学计算用酷睿系列处理器也太磕碜了吧，公
司/实验室难道没有像样的workstation? 主流配置应该是Xeon Phi or GPU，最矬也得
是核多的Xeon。

It is up to individual's interpretation. I shared it not because of BSO (do
you think $100 is worthy?) My purpose is to have people know that LARGE sum
AA GC purchase still qualifies me the $100 statement credit. Before that,
the common sense is that you should go slow and use small amount.
So actually I am sharing something that might benefit some people having
similar concerns. I don't expect to get paid, nor will I pay anybody. As I
always do.
But I agree your motivation that purely BSO posts shall be deleted. Whether
this post is one of them, it is up to you.

谢谢建议，遗憾的是这款很牛的划时代的CPU已近卖了。其实它不是用于科学计算的，
本来计划是攒下值得怀念的老机，想好好玩下《最终幻想15》的。

haha，情怀啊，我还买了个PC XT的主板收藏呢。还买Pentium Pro, 捡到个Pentium 4
HT也舍不得扔，一代名CPU嘛。
