I think it's case by case. You may get RFE for your I-140, and
RFE for your future I-485. I've got both for my NIW application,
and later my case was transfered to local office for interview.
During the interview, the officer specifically asked whether I was doing
the same/similar project as described in the NIW application (I was).
From what I heard, these days RFE and transfer are pretty common for NIW
based applications. But on the other hand, there are always ways to link
the new job with t
