I don't think you'll have OPT at all, if you already started PhD.

master的已经没了phd的还不能开始（至少要上一年）

cpt各学校规矩不同，自己去问一下就知道了。我们学校规定也是要一年以后。
而且cpt要老板签字。。。

I think you've finished master degree this spring or summer
and started PhD this fall. You did not use OPT after the master
degree and want to use it now.
I think you should not have OPT before graduate with PhD.
CPT is possible, but it depends.
Your advisor probably needs to approve that.

啊。。我怎么经常听说有人phd没读完找到工作就跑人了那是怎么回事呢？
我跟现在的老板还没有签plan of study, 那就还不算official的老板吧

你得在master学位拿到之前申请OPT才行。
学位已经拿到，就不能再用这一个学位申请OPT了。
除了CPT，另一个选择是，你在现在得phd program下面转成master，用这个新的master
申请opt。

这样看起来phd中途跑人几乎是不可能了？老板不可能轻易就放人给CPT签字，同样的
program拿了master再转回master几乎也没可能。可老听到有这样的论调"经济不好先读
着phd等拿master找到工作就跑路"，真不知道是怎么操作的。

这些人在拿到master之前就申请了opt然后跑路啊。关键是要在学位到手之前申请opt。不知道
你对opt的误解是卡在哪里了。
读phd过程中修够了master的学分，就申请master学位，同时申请opt。有了opt就去工作，把
phd老板甩掉。
实在不行你找到工作，直接h1b也可以呀。现在h1b名额还有剩，跳过opt也不是不可能的。
