Some company is trying to get me to do contracting jobs for them. Does
anyone know what the appropriate hourly rate? With phd in wireless
communications and 5 years of industrial experience. Thanks.

记得前两个星期在版上看到有人说他从入行开始，最低是 $45/hr，最高是$80/hr ?
我有个朋友工作了大概十年，是 > $150，接近$200/hr

through an agent?

没找到当时看的那篇，但我记得他说他是1099 contractor，还有我的朋友也是。
另外搜到这篇：

hour rate.

$60-80 for full time and long time contactor I suggest. Cause there is no
benefit for contractor, so 20-25% of your sallary are actually your benefit

So should you ask for 25% on top of your own regular salary?

和工作性质有关？我记得版上有人报过做DSP的80刀/小时。而我在5月初的时候，有个
Senior Java SWE的职位要求MS degree + 7年以上工作经验 + 很长skills list，老印
给的48刀的报价。我说太低了，要55刀，结果老印就不理我了。然后8月份另外一家老
印找我，这次要求的skills list比上次只多不少，居然只给我42刀的报价了。我昏倒
。不是说contractor工作因为没有benifit，要比FT的工资高些吗？这2次经历完全不是
这么回事呀。
