礼多人不怪。人都说美国人喜欢自信的affirmative的人，其实我发现，面试中，特别
是phone
interview中，一定要在态度上humble，当然内容上你可以说自己做了什么什么什么，
多吹吹都无所
谓，但是语气和措辞一定要谦逊。这是我多个phone interview之后的经验总结，希望
对大家能够有
借鉴。

lots of Chinese candidates are rejected due to "arrogance".. but it's not
the truth.. the truth is some chn candidates wrongly understand the
communication style/culture between Americans

I think so. I am also struggling on this humble yet confident thing, no
matter it is an email or an interview.

Be professional and be polite -- humble
reinstate your capability and potential -- confident.
show your enthusiasm.

totally agree with this. I learned this with the price of loosing a couple
of interviews from institutions that I really want to go.

Agree. But if possible, shine yourself and show your confidence. Humility,
if well presented, shows great confidence.
