SLC)

Job Summary & Responsibilities
The candidate will work in a global team responsible for designing, building
and maintaining test harnesses and software
configuration management toolsets. Systems are high performance, real-time C
++/JAVA/C# systems running on Linux/Windows.
The ideal candidate will have a strong object oriented C++/C#/JAVA
background in reliable distributed real time systems on Unix/
Linux/Windows platforms. Financial industry business knowledge is a plus.
Responsibilities:
• Design, Develop, and execute automated tests using the selected tool
, which will likely require programming in C, C++, JAVA, C#,
or some scripting language
• Understand the role of testing within the software development
lifecycle (SDLC) and business-related project constraints, and
effectively advocate for the best possible customer experience of product
quality within those parameters
• Select and develop appropriate test automation tools, applying the
latest techniques in test automation; e.g., data-driven testing
• Participate in project-wide reviews of requirements, system
architecture, and detailed design documents; i.e., perform manual
static testing
• Perform code reviews with development teams
• Work with development teams to capture and reuse automated unit test
cases, test stubs and drivers, and other development test
objects
Preferred Qualifications
Experience/Skills:
• Graduate or Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or an
engineering discipline.
• Experience with various tools for automation, testing and life cycle
management
• Strong C/C++/C# in a real time application development environment.
• Knowledge of database and performance tuning techniques
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team
environment.
• Self-starter, self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to manage multiple tasks.
Attitudes and Initiative:
• Develop and maintain good professional working relationships,
especially within the test team and with those who interact
regularly with the test team.
• Exhibit a demeanor of professional pessimism; i.e., in a pleasant
and non-confrontational fashion work with determination to find,
document, and advocate the repair of bugs
• Show initiative in setting and meeting goals within an environment
of managed change.
• A demonstrated career commitment to testing and/or quality assurance
is preferred. The candidate should show a familiarity with
the latest testing theory and practice, a commitment to on-going learning
about the field, and a history of applying useful testing
concepts in previous positions
