KENT, Wash. -- A state trooper pulled over a speeding car on Interstate 5
and made a surprising discovery: the passenger was a plastic skeleton.
Troopers said the driver had dressed up the skeleton in a hooded sweatshirt
and strapped it in with a seat belt in order to use the HOV lane.
It wasn't until the car was pulled over near 272nd Street that the trooper
noticed the passenger was nothing but bones.
The driver had no comment about his passenger, troopers said. The man
received citations for speeding, unsafe lane change and HOV violation in the
Dec. 20 incident.
