Six months ago, Juan Robert Lopez was critically injured when he crashed his
motorcycle in what police described as a possible street-racing accident
that killed Edwin Angulo Nunez, 23.
Lopez, 20, managed to survive that Feb. 26 crash.
But on Friday, Aug. 8, Lopez was speeding on Base Line about 9:30 a.m. when
he tried to split two vehicles stopped at a red light at North Mountain View
Avenue, San Bernardino Police Lt. Travis Walker said. Lopez struck a truck
before crashing into two other vehicles and was thrown from his 2001 Honda.
The Rialto resident was taken to Loma Linda University Medical Center, where
he died.
