而且美国的这个系统，作为被告的代价太大。一个小公司弄不好就是倾家荡产都对付不

唔，美国很麻烦的一点就是如果不上庭就会被判输。比方说你都已经搬到什么夏威夷去
了，但是那个上庭还是在什么印第安那，让你飞来飞去的成本很大，拖也拖死你，最后
只好花钱庭外settle。

哪里都一样，人类的法律其实就是用大多数正常人的common sense 来做规范的。
问题是现在太多的人在各种利益的驱使下，越来越没有common sense 啦。大的为了百
分之几的选票，让男人随便进女厕所，小的为了钱出卖面皮和人品。
这个案子其实还好啦，卖家不过损失几万-40刀。鸭城的搬家老张不仅替人白搬一次家
，还要赔上28万刀。比起牢狱之灾就不算什么了。

We could always hire a local attorney to examine the complaint, then either
to dismiss or make appearance for us and even after the default judgment has
been entered, there are options to vacate the default judgment.
But either way, we do need to spend money and the cheaper option might be to
settle like you said.
