read several posts on ha jin, so decided to read/listen his books. only "
good fall" is available in "hoopla digital", plus two study guides of ha jin
's work. overall, very disappointed. his writing, excellent, very english,
or even somewhat British, but the stories, pretty much just a vehicle to
deliver his anti-communism message, i am not fond of GCD either, but tired
of linking every negative event/trait to communism, too much political
implication, it masks any genuine humane traces in the stories, so agenda
driven, as bad as "样板戏“， don't think i will read his novels,
