Watched the documentary 《Still Tomorrow》 on PBS last night, mandrian
spoken with English subtitle. It follows the Chinese poet Yu Xiuhua who
suddenly became famous. It weaves her poems with her daily life, her
struggles, her sudden rise to fame, and the ending of her marriage. The film
is so real and it definitely gives me a different perspective than just
reading her poems.
The PBS version is shortened to 53 minutes. The full length version can be
watched on Youtube for $3.99, but there are free versions there too.
