近日，唐山富源钢铁厂的老板赵军显得异常焦躁。他的企业已经停产多日，正处于倒闭
的边缘。更让他坐立不安的是，整个钢铁行业都陷入了一片萧条，看不到一丝希望。
唐山是我国钢铁企业最为集中的地区。据估算，数百家钢铁厂中三成以上小钢铁厂已开
始限产或停产。

赵军记得很清楚，他在厂内痛苦的宣布停产是2010年6月9日，距今已一个月零六天了。
这一个多月来，生产工人都放假休班了，而他却比以往更加忙碌了。
用赵军的话说，富源钢铁厂在唐山数百家钢铁厂中只能是“跑龙套的小角色”。这家钢
铁厂是2007年年底成立的，现有职工100多人，以生产螺纹钢、角钢为主。
当时建厂时股东们总投资6000万元，其中近2000万元是贷款融资。2010年春节以来，钢
材价格一路飙升，让赵军和股东们看到了提前返本的希望。

我还是PHD在读，去年11月申请了DDIG（doctoral dissertation improvement grant）
目前一直都没有消息，我的一个同学在3.12已经收到awarded的信息了，而我的状态在3
.18更新过，仍然是pending
想请问。。。这个意味着我被拒了吗 ：（ 我可以直接给program officer写信问吗？

我准备让我父母最近过来探亲，但是我们家的房子的房产证明在我出国的时候已经转到
我的名下，现在我的父母来探亲，就没有有效的房产证了。这样拒签的可能性是不是很

经过几个月调研，打算把之前的一个软件重新组织一下
因为上班，以前都是晚上8，9点以后写程序，但是一打开电脑，习惯性的上上网，也就
10点多了，调程序一旦进入状态，1点多也不愿意收工，感觉对身体不好，
打算晚上哄完孩子，锻炼锻炼，也早点睡，早晨4点起来干活，缺点就是白天容易困，
打算中午到车里去睡一觉
有这么干的朋友么？ 早起是不是比晚睡对身体好些？

EB2 140已经下来一年多，现在想换工作。有一些问题。
当前雇主会不会revoke我的140？或者给相似背景的其他员工用？我知道有人一进公
司就跳过perm和140，直接等485排期或者直接交485（如果current）.我说的不是EB1.
另外我的H1B 6年期限是到今年年底，但是两年前延期到2012年年底。
如果现在跳，同时现在的雇主revoke我的140，是不是2012年底那个期限和新雇主的h1b
transfer上的期限都将无效？除非新公司申请的perm能在年底之前批准，否则我就悲
剧了？
或者我也可以直接用新公司的140？

一般我的经验是那边显示刚寄出，收到email网上查还显示在fl那，不到二天，就能收
到。不知道是register的寄的太快，还是update的不及时。

en, 早起早睡身体好。好像人体夜里进行的一些新陈代谢，如果晚睡就会受到影响。特
别是午夜以后的时间，1点到3点。。。最好不要继续工作。（我也经常晚睡，严重检讨）
有家有口的，做点儿事儿真不容易。

这是NSF唯一一个不需要citizenship/green card的给graduate student的grant

上班2个多miles, 下班再走回来。
话说有次路上有个白女，呼哧呼哧的从我后面超上来，一下子就把我落的很远。我一个
劲儿的追，走路都没追上。最后还是狂奔，完胜。

anyway i just saw too many people running or walking or excising or doing whatever with their earbud cord swinging all over the place like crazy, so i thought why the hell those people don't go bluetooth??

beta版的问题自然很多了，我正好换硬盘，就fresh install 了
后来发现很多软件没法用，只能自己编译code
而且还有基于gnome gui的一些软件在temrinal启动时长时间freeze
有人报道了这个bug，一时也没看到解答出来。
比如gvim 发现只有 configure 时选择athena gui才能在terminal正常启动
也没时间分析到底是哪里出问题了，看看升级能不能解决

是的，快走，比如达到自己最快速度的70%左右的，走个半小时，和慢跑没啥差别，
很锻炼的

应该是有些软件还没有出新内核(库？)的版本，所以安装了无法运行？
反正我下了code编译一下用的还好

installed, not much diff since I used classic gnome desktop.
had hard time to resize a window, until google says use "left alt+middle
mouse key", good workaround. not related to 12.04 directly tho. I've hated
aiming my mouse to resize for damned long!
