歪个楼，急求NIH的2015 guideline哪里找，就是那个postdoc的最低工资标准，level
0， level 1之类的。

原来是薄薄的那种围棋片...
我小的时候很多人都买便宜货玻璃围棋，塑料薄膜棋盘，后来邻居有一天拿出一种薄薄
的棋子，还是装在藤条的容器里，棋盘是木墩的，我们都稀奇。邻居说，这叫“云子”
，你们不懂了吧。于是我深深记在心里，觉得云子最贵，直到后来看棋魂漫画入迷，出
差去日本在日本棋院看到天价的围棋和棋盘，才知道还有比云子跟厉害的...

Pros:
Easy access between basement and backyard.
Equal to an extra big window and all of benefits of it like light and view.
Easier to get fresh air.
Cons:
More expensive.
Usually means uneven lot.
Usually not as energy efficient.
Extra entry to the house means more security concerns.
Corrections and additions welcome.

security no problem. first floor windows and glass doors the same.
uneven lot no problem if not very steep, no flood concern.
energy bill vs. more usable space, depends on personal needs.

agree. security largely depends on community. upper class neighborhood are
generally safe.
energy bill is a minor concern

云老师也下棋啊。有时间切磋一下。这几天回国休假，天天下得天昏地暗，好痛快。平
时在家里下的时候总得小心翼翼，生怕LD生气。

Yes, basement door has similar security concerns as first floor windows and
glass doors. What I meant is that the more weak points you have, the more
security issues you have to address, like better locks, more security camera
and motion sensors.
For a full walk out basement, it is hard for the lot not to be steep to have
a drop of a whole floor hight from the front to the back of the house. For
example, a drop of 8 feet over 20 feet leads to a slope of 22 degrees. It is
hard to call that not s

exterior door.
A big door is always one of the biggest energy suckers for a house. I think
few people on this board can say "energy bill is a minor concern".

a better case about uneven lot with walkout basement, is like stair steps
with rail, the steep "rail" parts are the sides of the lots, and the front
yard and backyard are the "step" parts relatively flat.

当年也算是个正经的业余二断，好多年不下了，感觉肯定已经不行了

Yes, it is better than a whole lot with big gradient.
For people with small side lot, it should be OK, although it is always an
inconvenience to go between front and back yards, say for mowing and
gardening. But for people with significant side lot, like me, it is a much
bigger problem.

Man, I hope I can say $150 is a minor concern. But it is true that for a
great view, natural light and air, as well as the ability to make basement a
more natural living space, it is not a big deal for a lot of people.
