为某杂志作审稿人，找该杂志主编求推荐，30分钟后回信，被告知不给不认识的人签名
。出师不利呀。。。关于要独立人推荐信，牛人们有啥建议？谢了！

房子的gas stove在厨房不靠墙的那一边，有没有可能直接装个油烟机，然后把管道从
天花板的夹层走啊。夹层应该是8''的横梁。
如果这样可以的话，管道在夹层要横跨整个厨房，大概3米的管子会不会太长。
多谢各位的经验。

没人碰到过这样的情况吗。
难道只能改厨房的floor plan，那样整个厨房要重新做了。呜呜

i found it is pretty tough to get so-called independent letter: has been
rejected 4 times.

several rejections:
Thanks for the e-mail. I actually received 5 e-mails asking me for letters
for nationalization last week. I'm just too busy to do any more. I'm
sorry. Best wishes,
I understand your situation and I certainly respect your work, but I
have to say that I'm not 100% comfortable with writing such a letter
for someone that I do not personally know. I hope you will understand.
Dear xxx, Thank you for your email. Unfortunately, however, I do not feel
that I can write a letter, since I have never met you and do not know you
personally. Best Regards

Keep trying. I also got rejected a couple of times. One example:
Unfortunately, I do not feel that I can write you a letter of recommendation
for your green card application. I would only write a letter like that for
someone that I know well. (I just turned down someone else today who I do
know, but not well, who had requested a similar letter.) I hope that you
have other people that you can turn to who will write a knowledgeable letter
of recommendation for you.

better ask your advisor/supervisor to provide you a list,
otherwise just keep sending more and more.
