可是我看那管子似乎是开口朝上的，下雨天不就会接雨水吗？
还有，这个house的浴室是装了exhaust fan的，这个总归也要有个出口吧？会是哪个呢
？

the pipes are plumbing venting system. For water to drain freely out of a
house waste system, there must be adequate venting. The venting performs
three functions. It allows air in front of the water rushing through the
waste pipe to be
pushed out of the way, and it also allows air to be reintroduced to the
waste piping after the water has gone by. Lastly, it allows sewer gases
to escape outside through a vent stack.

哇塞，豪宅啊。两层高，瓦是三十年一换的高级瓦。可见两个bathroom，每个bathroom
还都有skylight。

:) typical 3-tab shingle, but better color than the traditional pitch-black.
Good for warm climate.

:) It's sewer vent, right? So, the rain water will go down the sewer. But
usually, it's protected from critters/fallen leaves, open-end is risky, the
debris might clog your sewer.
Instead, any exhaust vent must be weather-proof, so, I figure they are those
lower mounds in your photo.
