打算写i will give
you an option to terminate the lease early with 30 day notice. If you decide
to stay and rent is not paid in full by noon Tuesday December 18th, a
formal eviction process will begin.大家看看可行吗?支支招吧,为这件事失眠了
都。
下面是她的邮件,非常不客气,楼里住户几乎都有孩子,也没像她这样抱怨一大堆,连
停电冰箱里的食物坏了也要怪房东。
It has now been 4 weeks (28 days) since Hurricane Sandy hit and severely
damaged our building. We have yet to hear a single word from you about
concern for our safety/well-being, conditions of the apartment, impact to
the building, and plans to conduct repairs to restore conditions to normal.
Your behavior and lack of communication is extremely irresponsible and
absolutely unacceptable to us.
I'm sure you have learned by now from the other owners in the building that
among other issues, major damages include:
There was no power in the building for 7 days
The elevator has not been functional for 4 weeks now
Serious flooding on the first floor required the carpets to be ripped
out and has left an unpleasant odor
Several lights in the stairways are non functional, in addition to most
of the outlets on the first floor
As you are well aware, we have two very young children. Nikhil is 3.5 years
old and Namya is 14 months. The specific impact to our family as a result
of all of these damages include:
During the time the power was out, this apartment was uninhabitable for
a period of 6 days. We had to evacuate the building on Day 3 with the
children and walk through 2 feet of sewage water for 10+ blocks to get to
dry land
For 4 WEEKS now, we have had to walk up and down 5 flights of stairs.
This is something that is challenging for adults, let alone a 3 year old
child (which he has had to do EVERYDAY due to school). And carrying the
baby up and down so many stairs multiple times a day is both unsafe and
exhausting. Don't even get me started about carrying a double stroller (in
addition to normal grocery shopping) down 5 flights of stairs with kids in
tow
Our car was destroyed due to the excessive flooding in the garage; the
garage remains with issues, including challenges to the auto-open garage
door, and the lights in the garage
The odor in the hallways and main areas due to all the sewage water
entering the building had been both unsafe and unpleasant for young children
, and the main hallway remains without carpet
We had lost an entire refrigerator and freezer full of food due to the
lack of power
All of these inconveniences have been extremely costly both financially and
emotionally. The building in its current condition is materially different
than what we signed an agreement for. What we agreed to pay rent for was a
high-end elevator building. What we have been residing in the for the past
month is a mediocre 5th floor walk up.
We have been nothing but exemplary tenants of your unit and have always paid
our rent in advance of the due date. However, as a result of these
excessive inconveniences we have endured coupled with your irresponsibility
as a landlord, we will be withholding rent until the above problems are
rectified.
We look forward to hearing about your plans to reconcile these conditions.
