Purpose of Position / Job Summary:
The Senior Application Developer designs, develops, implements, and
maintains major package and custom financial and supply chain applications.
The individual will be part of the Production Support team working with
business solution analysts on maintaining and enhancing the current
operational systems and providing production support activities as needed.
The individual will work extensively with all aspects of the Oracle
development environment and employ various reporting tools and utilities.
The developer will also support day-to-day escalations and issues resolution
within the currently implemented production system. The role will act as an
internal consultant within the technology group by evaluating current
system design and recommending new solutions that reduce costs, optimize
processing, and extend current capabilities.
Primary Responsibilities: (Attach additional page if necessary)
• Develop and maintain multiple complex interfaces to and from the
financial and supply chain ERP systems
• Provide high level support and troubleshoot all issues/service
tickets related to functional processes that are not working properly
• Support incident resolution (including vendor fixes and business
modifications) using a standard process
• Create complex reports and extracts; ensure accuracy
• Deliver high-quality source code, unit test scripts, and
technical documentation
• Load and extract data using ETL utilities
• Support e-business commerce using EDI
• Perform technical analysis of software components.
• Provide feedback regarding effort estimates, complexity and
feasibility when changes in original design and development are required to
meet evolving business requirements
• Support all test phases and data conversion activities
• Adhere to quality standards and software configuration management
guidelines
• Develop and communicate new technology standards and best
practices as appropriate
• Ensure production SLAs are met; provide performance tuning as
necessary
• Respond to production support outages/problems per SLA (on-call)
• Mentor less experienced developers by providing technical support
and product knowledge on Oracle e-Business functionality
• Maintain current knowledge of system development techniques
within the Oracle e-Business Suite
Required Qualifications:
• 7+ years of IT industry work experience including finance and
supply chain solution design, technical development, and deployment
• Bachelors or Master’s degree (preferred) in computer science or
related technical field or equivalent experience
• 5+ years experience developing Oracle finance and supply chain
business solutions
• Expertise in Oracle e-Business suite best practices, including at
least one full cycle implementation (R12)
• Expert knowledge of Oracle e-Business features; knowledge of
Oracle fiscal calendar configuration highly desirable
• Detailed technical knowledge of Oracle financial modules (AR,AP,
GL,FA, FSG, and Discoverer)
• Detailed technical knowledge of Oracle supply chain modules (WMS,
OM, Shipping, Inv., etc.)
• Detailed functional and technical knowledge of EDI
• Knowledge of MI9 inventory application and MicroStrategy
reporting package highly desirable
• Understanding of project management principles
• Demonstrated successful working relationships with IT and
Business customers
• Ability to present complex technical ideas in business-friendly
language
