Thank you very much for connecting on LinkedIn. How are you doing today? I
am xxxxx, currently pursuing MS in Computer Science from University of
Illinois at Chicago.
My areas of interest lies in Machine Learning, algorithms and Full stack
development in data driven projects. I am currently interning at a bay area
startup called "Inspirock" where I am working as a fullstack developer on
Java 8, Spring MVC, Hibernate and Angular JS. I am also exploring the
machine learning avenues in the team to design the recommender system for
the core inspirock application.
Currently, I am part of CEO lead team to design ML models to predict
bookings. I have currently completed my Fall term with GPA of 3.7 and had
taken following subjects: 1. Algorithms 1 2. Software Engineering 3.
Database management systems During my spring term I took courses which more
closely alligns my areas of interest as follows: 1. Introduction to Machine
Learning 2. Introduction to Data Science 3. Foundations of Security I
learned various classical machine learning techniques both supervised and
unsupervised such as decision trees, random forest, Naive Baye's, bayesian
networks, HMM, K-means, KNN , ADA Boost etc and also applied some of them to
develop project called : 1. Spam email classification using logistic
regression and naive baye's 2. Animal shelter outcome prediction: A kaggle
challenge(Methods used, multiclass logistic regression, Random forest with
ADA boost, Decision trees) Further in my data science course I worked
extensively with python and learned various techniques of search such as TF-
IFD, similarity indexes and also worked on some of the big data stuff using
Hadoop and Apache spark. some of my projects involved: 1. Data Cleaning of
university database using Beautiful soup. 2. Twitter Sentimental Analysis:
Predict the happiest state in united states. The challenges which lied in
Twitter sentimental analysis were majorly to handle the sentiments of
emoticons and determine the geographic location of tweets even though user
has kept geotagging options closed and handling the tweets of different
languages. Further, I am also working on some of the Java Frameworks of
Spring and Hibernate and am developing a Rest API using the same. My
expected graduation date is Dec 2016 and I am currently looking for full
time positions starting in Jan 2017. As an University of Illinois alumni I
would be glad if you can advice me for my future career. I would also like
to know more about Airbnb, your role as a ML engineer in risk team, work
currently going on in Risk team and upcoming challenges at Airbnb. I hope
to hear from you soon and chat with you. Are you available for a quick call
sometime today sometime around 4 PM PST? Or do let me know your suitable
time and yes do have a look at my LinkedIn and Github portfolio.
