He liked her,
She did not like him,
She said that if he persisted further, she won't even be a friend.
He was sad, and moved to another town.
Few years later, she was still single, and received a letter from him,
saying that he was married,...
She happily responded, and corresponded and shared each's life for sometime.
Then one day, she met a mutual friend on the market, and she mentioned about
him to the mutual friend.
The mutual friend was very surprised, and told her that he was never married
.
She went home, and read all the letters again, and tears came down her face.
..
The end.
Q1. I think I read this long time ago (>25 years) by a cheesy chinese author
, Any of you know the source of the story. Just want to make sure I am not
imaging...
Q2. Do you think the story can be true?

什么样的人生都有，什么样的事情都可能。

没读过。看来是一个备胎的故事。
不要以为是他的爱打动了她。她其实就是无比自恋罢了。被别人的爱打动而走到一起的
，一方注定永远付出。

小说, 虚构的情节难免,没结婚为什么要说自己结婚了?
小说中有提到过他有难言之隐,无法与她一起生活的其它原因吗?

或许是为了断绝他对她的想法而为?
第一个问题好难回答, 即使真有这个故事, 也无法证明楼主不是在幻想啊.

No.
Actually, the story says that he wrote her, and she did not respond because
she wanted to 断其情愫, then he said he get married, described his wife,...,
etc, which turned out to be a lie.
