25 off $250, but staples or office depot every few weeks have coupons like $
10 of $100 or $20 of $200 very often, unless there is an item with big sale
discount, otherwise why bother? state+local sale taxes are 8% or more.

okay, I understand the trick now. Amex don't know you buy gift card at bb,
that's the key. And no sale tax for GC. But if I use store coupon like the
$20 off 200, store will not let me buy GC with coupon, and I can only buy
merchandise that are subject to sale taxes.

这个不是隐私，虽然他们不会自动知道，但是他们有权力知道。研究客户购买的具体的
东西，以及购买趋势，是信用卡公司的一个重要部门。
